Following interest by teachers and scholars of Cantonese, an organization was formally established in January of 1994, with the help of the National Foreign Language Center in Washington, D.C. and the National Organization for Less-Commonly Taught Languages.  The organization was active for some seven or eight years afterwards. With renewed demand and broad interest, the Cantonese Language Association (CLA)  was relaunched in 2021 with this new website and a provisional board of directors. We invite you to join and support CLA by joining and helping to provide content for the site.
